Our oathie bagel! That’s our nutritious low gluten oat (or oat, as it’s called in English) based bagel. The oathie bagel is a healthy alternative to bread that contains no flour or wheat, but consists of raw oatmeal flakes, berries, flaxseed and nuts. The sugars in the oathie are absorbed more slowly than the sugars in “regular” bread. This is because oathie is richer in healthy fiber and fats. Bread contains less healthy nutrients, namely mostly empty calories in the form of sugars. The oathie bagel contains many healthy substances, such as extra minerals (iodine, potassium and magnesium), flaxseed and walnuts (omega-3 fatty acids) and blueberries (contain flavonoids).
Measurements have been taken since the introduction of this bagel to determine the ppm of gluten. The ppm gluten has never exceeded 79 ppm in these measurements. Less than 20 ppm is “gluten-free. Less than 100 ppm is “low gluten.
The oathie may contain traces of milk/lactose, which is why we do not recommend this bagel as vegan. However, it does contain only plant-based products.
