Bagels & Beans is a cafe, a sandwich shop and a place for lunch… all rolled into one. As you might have guessed, we serve coffee and bagels – not to mention great bagel sandwiches. In fact, we put the bagel on the map in the Netherlands, something we’re really quite proud of. Our coffee is grown on a small-scale, family run plantation in the hills under Volcán Barú in Panama, where almost everything is still done by hand.
Our Panamanian arabica always ranks high in one of the top coffee competitions in the Netherlands, de koffietest, held annually by newspaper Algemeen Dagblad. Bagels & Beans Den Bosch even won it twice in 2007 and 2013. But we offer more than just prize-winning coffee and mouth-watering bagels. That same attention-to-detail goes into our healthy and delicious breakfast, lunch, brunch or snack options, such as:
While our menu boasts plenty of fresh, delicious and inspiring options, there’s more to Bagels & Beans than just food for the body. We’re ‘a haven for coffee, bagels and happiness’. In a world that gets more hectic by the day, we’d like to think of ourselves as an island of refuge. A friendly place where you can come in hungry for lunch and leave feeling cheered in spirit.
Our menu has emphasized healthy, sustainable food since we opened the first Bagels & Beans in 1996. All our meat is organic and our fish is sustainably-caught, supplied by Fish Tales. No-meat options are no problem too. Try our mind-blowingly delicious mushroom burger, or any one of our other vegetarian options. The dough for all except one of our bagels is made with vegan ingredients. The only exception are our gluten-free bagel and Prana bagel. Ask your server about our vegetarian items – we have plenty of tasty and inspiring veggie options on our menu.
Our special gluten-free bagel means that no gluten is no problem. When preparing this bagel, we make sure to follow a special procedure to prevent any contact with products that might contain gluten, which includes using separate utensils and a separate cutting board. In addition to our gluten-free bagel, there’s also our spelt bagel, and the oathie with oats, apple, flaxseed, walnuts, blueberry and peach fibre.
Our bagels contain no lactose or cow’s milk. For lactose-free filling, ask your server to see our allergy information leaflet where you’ll find a list of our lactose-free options. If there is something else you would like, let our staff know and they will try their best to accommodate you.
